01 — The Challenge

Where the project began

Armani Beauty needed a large-format counter that could hold fragrance, makeup and skincare within one continuous brand space, finished to the house’s exacting lacquer standard.

The difficulty lay in combining lighting, power, tester display and secure storage inside a single run of joinery, with every module arriving on site ready to assemble.

From sketch to proposal

The counter is organised around Armani’s own Dress Code language. Back-lit fragrance boxes frame Acqua di Giò and Sì at the upper level, while the central Makeup Dress Code unit sets testers on illuminated tiered trays.

A Dress Code for Face bar, with lit mirrors and a stone-finish worktop, gives beauty advisors a dedicated space for consultation.

– Cabinetry & storage: bespoke wood joinery in black and warm grey, with lockable drawers and cabinets
– Feature panels: high-gloss red lacquer in Armani’s signature colour
– Signage & lightboxes**: illuminated ARMANI lettering and back-lit fragrance displays
– Tester trays: tiered trays with product-specific cut-outs and metal edge trims
– Face bar: stone-finish worktop, LED-framed mirrors and integrated power

High-Gloss Lacquer

The red feature panels are finished to a deep, even gloss that holds Armani’s signature colour under strong retail lighting.

Integrated Lighting

Illuminated lettering, back-lit fragrance boxes, lit tester trays and framed mirrors are built into the joinery, with all wiring concealed inside the structure.

Modular Build

Each wall configuration is built in sections and pre-assembled in our workshop, so the counter is checked as a whole before it ships.

03 — The Craft

The making

The cabinetry is built as modular wooden structures in black and warm grey, with each wall configuration planned around its own mix of fragrance, makeup and skincare display.

The red feature panels are lacquered to a high gloss, while the tester trays are cut to the exact footprint of each product and trimmed in metal. Lighting and power are routed inside the joinery to the signage, lightboxes, trays and mirrors.

Before shipment, every configuration is fully assembled in the workshop. Lighting is switched on, doors and drawers are checked, and finishes are inspected as a complete counter rather than as loose parts.

04 — The Outcome

The final presentation

The counter was delivered as a set of modular wall units, labelled and ready for on-site assembly in a department store setting.

On the shop floor, it reads as one continuous Armani Beauty space: fragrance at eye level, makeup within reach and a quieter corner for face consultations, all held together by the house’s red, black and grey palette.
