Electroplated Fiberglass Shell Props for LOEWE
VM Display produced a collection of electroplated fiberglass shell props for LOEWE pop-up stores across Korea, Japan, Dubai, the United States, Thailand and Malaysia.
Inspired by seashells and summer coastal landscapes, the sculptural collection creates an immersive setting for displaying handbags, accessories and seasonal merchandise. Multiple shell shapes and reflective silver surfaces bring the atmosphere of a beach holiday into luxury commercial environments.

Mirror Finish Seashell Sculptures Made from Fiberglass
Each mirror finish seashell sculpture begins with an equal-scale 3D-printed model measuring between approximately 40 and 210 cm in height. A production mold is then created before the fiberglass shell and its internal metal structure are formed.
The surface is repeatedly filled, polished and primed until it is sufficiently smooth for metallic finishing. A UV-baked primer strengthens the prepared surface before the sculpture enters the vacuum electroplating chamber. A final clear UV coating helps protect the reflective finish.
These modeling, molding, fiberglass lay-up, polishing and plating stages are completed through our vacuum metallization facility. Designers planning other oversized branded forms can also review our large-format fiberglass sculpture range.

Metallic Coastal Decor for Global Boutique Rollouts
The shell collection can be produced in silver, gold, rose gold, bronze, red, green, blue, pink or mixed metallic tones. Shapes, dimensions and surface colors can be adjusted to coordinate with seasonal merchandise, campaign artwork and boutique interiors.
An internal metal structure supports larger sculptures, while the lightweight fiberglass body makes complex organic forms more practical to manufacture and position. After inspection, each reflective prop is protected with soft film, EPE foam and bubble wrap before being secured inside a custom wooden crate.

How are complex seashell shapes manufactured?
The process begins with precision 3D modeling and an equal-scale printed master. A production mold is created from the approved form before fiberglass layers and the required internal support are assembled, refined and prepared for finishing.
How is the reflective mirror finish created?
The fiberglass surface is filled, hand-sanded and primed until smooth. It then receives a UV-baked primer before vacuum electroplating. A transparent UV coating is applied as the final protective layer.
Which metallic colors are available?
Available finishes can include silver, gold, rose gold, bronze, red, green, blue, pink and mixed metallic colors. Final colors should be approved through finish samples before production.
Can the shell dimensions be adapted for different stores?
